High-Solids Coatings
Emissions that are too high, the VOC Solvents Emissions Directive (1999/13/EC), the Deco-Paint Directive (2004/42/EG), and a lower consumption are the main reasons for using these systems.In paint shops without exhaust air treatment (e.g. thermal treatment) the high-solids coatings mentioned below are often the only possibility to comply with the values established by the VOC Solvents Emissions Directive. The main advantages of high-solids coatings in contrast to water based coatings are: good adhesion tolerances to surfaces not thoroughly cleaned, application in adverse weather conditions, and an easy changeover when conventional solvent based coatings have before been used. High-solids coatings and conventional solvent based paints can be applied at the same time.
All products listed below can be utilized when you need a solvent management plan, a reduction scheme acc. to the VOC Solvents Emissions Directive (1999/13/EC), or you have to use products acc. to the Deco-Paint Directive (2004/42/EG). This overview is intended to give you easy reference concerning the possible high-solids coatings that correspond with these directives.
